Ceramic vs. wax vs. sealant: which one do you actually need?

There's no single right answer. The honest answer depends on how often you wash the car, how long you keep it, and where it lives.

Wax (typically carnauba) is warm, glossy, and lasts six to ten weeks. It's beautiful for show cars and weekenders. It's the wrong choice for a daily driver because you'll be reapplying it constantly.

Sealants are synthetic and last roughly three to six months. They're a great middle ground if you want easier washing without committing to a coating.

Ceramic coatings are the long-term play — two to seven years of hydrophobic, chemical-resistant protection. They cost more up front and they're the right call for a car you're keeping more than a year, especially in Houston.

Our rule of thumb: if you're keeping the car less than 18 months, a sealant is plenty. Longer than that, the math on ceramic gets very friendly very fast.
